Have you ever read Shakespeare for school and thought, "I have absolutely no idea what's going on?" Us too! Join Brown Box Theatre Project in an engaging, exciting exploration of Shakespeare's words and worlds. Starting with collaborative relationship-building games, we will warm up our bodies and minds to tackle Much Ado About Nothing. Improv exercises, script discussion, and maybe even a chance to watch actors prepare round out our workshop. Committed to curating a safe, accessible space for varying skill-levels and interests, the workshop will be led by teaching artist and
human who enjoys theatre, Surrey Houlker. Surrey is a maker and educator based in Boston. She has worked with American Repertory Theatre, ArtsEmerson, and The Neo-Political Cowgirls in different capacities; community education and thought sharing make her happiest of all. Recent theatre credits include 'Love & Information', 'Girl in the Machine', 'Twelfth Night' (Emerson College). In addition to her work, Surrey also likes to paint, ride her bike, and pretend that she knows how to bake. Let's go!
